Bred from the loins of the proud Midwest, Draplin's career started with a snowboard graphic for Solid snowboards and took off like wildfire soon after. Everything from lettering cafe signs to drawing up logos to thinking up local advertising campaigns were manhandled by the artist in his early days, and he continued to progress through art director and senior designer gigs in Southern California and Portland, Oregon to end up with his own design company in 2004.
In his series of 'Thick Lines' prints, Draplin taps into the simplicity of design which is often overlooked in current times, and as he says "We’re always on the hunt for “more color” and [to] always find time to savor the simple stuff in the world. Let these thick lines do both!".
