Audrey Kawasaki is an artist of Japanese heritage with a flair for gentle and mysterious visions of femininity. She studied for two years in New York before returning to Los Angeles where she now works, lives and exhibits.
Her girls of whimsy come to us as if apparitions from a dream. Inspired by the natural grain of the wooden panels she works on, her imagery is imbued with a beautiful fluidity.
Her works appear to have an Art Nouveau influence, and something of a 1970s feel in design and mood. As explorations in femininity her women range from erotic, sensual, flirtatious and sometimes childlike.
