Framing Service

Before we get started, we offer an obligation-free framing consultation to ensure that you'll be happy with the final product. This can be done without needing an appointment at either our Melbourne CBD gallery or Fitzroy gallery.

Please allow 10-15 minutes for one of our team to lead you through the process. If you require quotes on several pieces, please call us to organise a suitable time so we can give you the focus needed with minimal interruptions. 

Unlike most framing companies, Outré Gallery is predominantly an art gallery. This has given us direct knowledge and expertise in dealing with artwork, correct handling of artworks, and keeping up with current framing trends and practices. 

With nearly 30 years experience and assisting with the framing of over 200 art exhibitions, you can trust us and leave your artwork in extremely capable hands.

Pricing can vary dramatically depending on the final size of the frame and framing style, so it is always best to bring in your job so we can measure and quote in person. If you would like a rough quote or general price range, feel free to drop us a line.

We generally offer a one week turnaround from Thursday morning to the following Thursday. If you miss the Thursday workshop collection, your job will be stored safely at the gallery until next week’s collection. Some jobs require more time depending on the complexity and size of the job.

Canvas stretching and framing costs vary according to the size and style of your artwork and of course the materials you choose. Our team will provide a range of options to suit your art, your budget, and your personal taste.

We make all of our frames at our framing workshop in Carrum Downs. We pride ourselves in using quality materials and not cutting corners. All our frames are made from timber and are offered in a range of finishes. 

In addition, we only use acid-free backing and mounting to ensure the full conservation of your work. We use quality picture framing glass for the majority of our frames, and offer a range of UV protective and non reflective glass as well as Perspex. 

We also stretch and frame canvas, and can offer hand-stained timber frames and decorative corner joining if you have something special in mind. 

All of our frames come with reverse acid-free sealing and hanging wire preinstalled so your art is ready to go straight on your wall.

All of our framing moulds have been hand picked to offer stylish framing solutions which put emphasis on your artwork or photo. Our experienced team will help you select a frame that is perfect for your art, taste, and budget.

In general our prices are extremely competitive, but yes! If you are bringing in multiple pieces we will assess the pricing on a job by job basis.

Yes we do, but it needs to be discussed, quoted and paid in full before the job can proceed. We are also unable to take any responsibility for lost or damaged artworks in transit to or from the galleries.
