A note from the artist:

I lived in Japan for a few years after high school, and it left an impression deep in my soul. To this day, my favorite thing is to go back, not to see the big city, but to meander on bicycle through suburbs and rural rice fields. During my wanderings I often see cute neighborhood cats, sunning themselves on a tiled rooftop. Obviously no neighborhood has this many cats (please spay and neuter your pets), but for the sake of drawing lots of cute kitties, I just couldn't help but fill the scene with feline energy!
