Artist statement:

The over-arching themes of Kate's work is the human relationship to nature and animals, with a particular emphasis on the collecting of specimens and their presentation for study, but also how they have frequently been used as the basis for decorative arts design, and feature prominently as motifs in historical art movements such as Rococo and Art Nouveau. The Rabbit Urn was originally created as part of the Ornament Crimes series of works presented in the Rigg Design Prize in 2015.
