Artist statement:

This artwork is a contemplation on liminality. The term liminal describes a state, place or time which is on the threshold of change or transition. In the painting, the subject matter is suspended in a twilight landscape. Twilight is suggested in folklore as a time of day where the physical world meets the spiritual. Symbolically, that transition from day to night, indicates a time when all possibilities exist. Throughout the painting, there is a desire to emphasize the liminal space between stillness and movement; the wind blowing in her hair or the bugs crawling through the bouquet contrasted with the stillness of the light. And finally, the transition of the seasons is suggested in the title ' Harvest'.
