Artist statement:

This painting explores the tension between belonging and displacement, using the orca as a symbol of heightened awareness, memory, and emotional intelligence. Removed from their natural environment, the orcas have become metaphors for inner states that do not easily conform to the structures built around them. Ultimately, the work is less about environmental commentary alone and more about psychological space. I am trying to convey a feeling of carrying something vast, sensitive, and deeply alive within environments that are not designed to hold it. Orcas hover quietly, neither struggling nor settled, embodying resilience, detachment, and the search for alignment in an altered world with limited time.
