A note from the artist:
'I watched this anime last fall and it claimed my heart! Yoshiki’s indecision between protecting the town, and losing his best friend, is a heartbreaking dilemma to watch unfold. I haven’t read the manga yet… so I’m hoping for a happy ending(?)
This print is my love letter to the Japanese countryside. Many years ago when I was younger, I lived in suburban and rural Japan for two years. I quickly fell in love with rice fields, the green mountains, and the hum of summer cicadas. I hope this design transports you to the Japanese countryside as well!
The captions at the top translate to: The Summer Hikaru Died and also, Whatever you are, having you by my side is better than not having you at all.'
