Artist Statement

I was going to name each painting in this show a short phrase that would make my personal, universal. I gave up on that and gave them proper names.

In memory of their first names.

Broods

We itch all summer.
We hold our tongues.
Our heads on fire.
We clung to songs.
We knew hope was a waste.
We always want more.
Our beautiful world in ruins.
I live in the great world but it hurts.
No one hurts like us.

We are memorial.
