Artist statement:

Milky River is a reference to one of Indonesia’s folk songs, Kolam Susu (roughly translated 'Pond Full of Milk'). The song is a visual metaphor of abundant natural resources in Indonesia that are sufficient to sustain life from generation to generation, creating a tangible relationship between nature and humanity, one that should be mutually sustaining and protective. Unfortunately, life has now become increasingly complex, where natural resources have turned into mere sources of profit, exploited without preservation.
