MARTIN HARRIS
Melbourne artist Martin Harris showcases some amazing and rainbow hued watercolour works in his own nostalgic and perfectly adorable style in his exhibit TOYTOWN.

Martin's miniature artworks deserve to be observed with a magnifying glass! Their detail is wonderful and their subject matter enchanting.

Martin has a dedicated band of fans who have followed his quietly glowing career.  New fans and old are going to be absolutely charmed by this new body of works which really showcases Martin's skills and visions as nothing short of brilliant.

Martin re-creates his own visions of old time science labs, storybook wonderlands, dreamy candy playgrounds and tableaux from vintage encyclopedias.  And did we say they are populated with the most adorable anthropomorphized menagerie - cats, dogs, birds, bears, elephants, foxes aplenty.

Expect candy-dreaming, cute-galore and vintage inspired wonder - and affordable prices on these super detailed originals.

We highly recommend joining the waiting list for this cool show by Martin Harris.

TOYTOWN, a showcase of original watercolours and new giclee prints

by Melbourne artist MARTIN HARRIS

Outré Gallery, 249 Elizabeth Street Melbourne

Saturday 5 September - 6 October, 2009

Opens 10am Saturday 5 September - tea, lollies and preview.  RSVP requested

HEISUKE KITAZAWA
Heisuke Kitazawa is also showcasing slightly later in September.

Kitazawa is a Japan-based illustrator and designer whose work not only graces collectors' walls but also video games, CD covers, and limited-edition self-published books. Robots and monsters, technology and biology, and blobs and angles collide, as his futuristic themes, modernist curves, and warm color palette create a glimpse into a future that combines the hyper detail of Superflat artists and cheerful whimsy of children’s books.

We are proud to be featuring a beautiful and surreal showcase of original artworks, new giclee prints and some fresh open editions too.

Get on the Waiting List if you are interested in buying Heisuke's work.

JAMES JEAN
Big thanks to artist extraordinaire James Jean for coming out to Melbourne and sharing his time, energy and passion with us all.  The signing we hosted for James at our Melbourne gallery was a buzz of a day - and we also thank all the patient and lovely fans who came to show James how much Melbourne loves him.

Big thanks to Jonathan van Beek for the photos and for sharing his experience of the day on his blog.
