MARK RYDEN'S TREE SHOW BOOK

Mark Ryden's latest release THE TREE SHOW is a beautiful, lush hardcover catalogue of artworks in his best dreamy, nostalgic, picturesque style.  High quality and guaranteed not to disappoint.  Larger format than some of his previous releases.

This big, hardcover Mark Ryden book is the exhibition catalogue from "The Tree Show" at the Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles, California. It features paintings, drawings, and sketches, as well as some documentary photography of sculptures, installations, and the artist at work.  Nature, visions, dreams and symbolic resonance abound!

This body of work includes depictions of oak trees consuming children, floating tree stumps with "seeing" eyes, imaginary wood nymphs and mythological characters who personify Nature herself. Ryden paints his characters with a masterful, porcelain glow reminiscent of Ingres and renders his trees with a care that evokes Audubon's botanical illustration.

Nature is not necessarily your friend. Big (about 22 x 30cm), hardcover, colour, 180 pages.

We are dispatching books now!  Don't hesitate as we only have limited numbers of this book and will not be getting more (no re-print planned)

AUDREY KAWASAKI SHOWCASE

Audrey Kawasaki has carved a niche with her perfected visions of exotic Lolita delicacies.  With a touch of whimsical lightness and moments of art nouveau stylistic flourishes she has won many hearts world-wide.

Ethereal and disembodied. Her characters drift into existence often disembodied or as if through the veils of misty reality.  Missing limbs.  Floating heads.  These ladies are from a ghost world.

This is Audrey’s first Australian exhibition and will feature a beautiful selection of rare sold-out prints plus one brand new original painted especially for this showing.  A new print edition exclusive to Outré will be released at this time.

As Audrey’s editions are known to sell out in mere minutes, Outré has a waiting list operating for potential collectors.  Email to be added to the Waiting List.  Please note - being on this Waiting List does not mean your name is on the guest list for the opening - this is a list for collectors interested in buying.

Audrey will not be out from the States for this exhibition, but her works are sure to speak for themselves in volumes.  Sit tight for her 2010 feature exhibition at Outré when we hope to have the artist in the house!

Show dates: Saturday 14 February 2009 until the end of February
Opening: Friday 13 February 2009 from 6pm.  Entry by RSVP only.  There will be a doorlist.  RSVP here.
THOMAS HOOPER PRINTS

Thomas Hooper is an English born tattooer who works at the legendary New York Adorned and its new sister shop Brooklyn Adorned.  His work draws on the cross-cultural symbolic language of tattoo culture with streams of darkness, spirituality and design running through his work.  We have two smokey giclee prints "Enter" and "The Raven" that rock subtle shades of grey through black with intensity.

See them in the gallery in Melbourne.  From AU$225 framed.
